Spike Island is Bristol's international centre for the prodcution and exhibition of contemporary art, championing outstanding work by emerging and underrepresented local, national and international artists. Founded as Artspace Bristol in the mid-1970s by a group of artists, Artspace moved to former Brooke Bond tea packing warehouse in 1992 and was renamed Spike Island in 1998.
