Salon de Kunst is an artist-run space that connects art, meals, and conversations to create a sustainable cultural hub. Rooted in my background as a South Korean fine artist, the space challenges conventional boundaries between commerce and creativity. Through exhibitions, workshops, and a community café, our mission is to foster connection, experimentation, and resilience — offering alternative models of cultural exchange that sustain both artists and neighbors.
Funding:
Salon de Kunst is largely carried by the founder’s own resources and determination, drawing on savings, small-scale commercial work (everyday freshly made colorful food), and the support of neighbors and friends (visitors). What might seem like a financial struggle is, for them, part of the artistic practice themselves—an exploration of how to live, create, and connect outside fixed systems. They regard sustaining this space, even with its challenges, as an extension of their art: treating empathy, community, and resilience as materials within the work.
